That products have to be clearly identiable is getting more and more important, for example in the Pharma industry to distinguish imita- tions but also in the mail order area to de- nitely identify letters. For such applications LEIBINGER offers the Security ink. This uore- scent ink begins to shine under ultraviolet light and offers so an authenticity safety feature.
The orange-colored Barcodes at letters are certainly known to everyone. This application is maybe the most common use of the so called „post ink“. Because of the use of orange uorescent ink or magenta uorescent ink the print begins to shine under ultraviolet light and makes original products denitely identiable.
Under normal lighting conditions the ink appears in its respective color, orange or magenta, without special features. The ink begins additionally to shine only under ultraviolet light. Next to the shine feature also the good readability by sensors respectively detectors is another advantage which increases the use of this ink especially for the automated proces- sing of letters in mail administrating centers.
This inks are mostly used on paper or highly absor- bent, porose material. The curing time of this Secu- rity ink is a bit higher on surfaces like glass or metal and it can come to a copy print. Another possibility to protect products from imita- tions and to improve the traceability are special inks like ultraviolet readable inks which are invisible under normal light. Codes and safety features are printed invisible on to the product and are an effec- tive copy protection. The user can check the invisible marked products upon originality easily with a ultra- violet light for example a black-light lamp.
